Ghana bowed out of the 2021 African Cup of Nations on Tuesday evening without a single win to their name.

The Senior national football of Ghana went into the last  Group C game with one thing in mind, win.

The first 25 minutes of the game is probably the worse display ever in the  Ghana Blackstars’ AFCON history.

The team realized it’s a competitive match and not a friendly when the captain of the side got sent off.

Surprisingly after the red card the one-sided game became even but the final scoreline wasn’t as debutant Comoros got their first-ever AFCON win.

Player Ratings:

Joe Wallocott 3/10

The Swindon Town shot-stopper couldn’t stop any ball any time Comoros team breached his defence.

Andy Yiadom 4

For the first time in the tournament Andy Yiadom was given the license to overlap like a modern fullback but his crosses brought no success. Defensively he was really bad like all members of the back 5.

Rahman Baba 3

The Reading left-back had a very poor game even by his fallen standard.

Daniel Amartey 3

The most experienced member of the back 5 was the worst on the day. His error gave the Comoros the lead after only 4 minutia play

Alexander Djiku 4

He scored on the day but did a very poor job in his primary duty as a defender.

Thomas Partey – 3 Much was expected from the Arsenal man going into this game but just like the 1st two games, he was average at best.

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh 5

He was Ghana’s best player on the day. His deliveries from set-pieces was the only threat Ghana posed to the Comoros keepers all game.

Fatawu Issahaku- 4

The African U-20 Best Player showed some promise but in games like this promises aren’t enough.

Kamal Deen Sulemana 3

The Rennes wonder kid was in a wonderland this evening. He was confused on the pitch and contributed almost nothing in attack.

Jordan Ayew 4

The Crystal Palace attacker was more interested in winning fouls than helping Ghana win the game.

Andre Ayew 3

He was poor by his lofty standards till his harsh red card in the 25th minute.

Edmund Addo 5

He brought in assurance to the midfield in the 2nd half

Boakye Yiadom 5

The giant striker scored in the 60th minute,  after 4 minutes on the pitch. His height was a threat to the Comoros team during set pieces

Joseph Painstil 4

He wasn’t too much time twisting and turning when he was expected to whip in crosses

Samuel Owusu

He had 10 minutes to help Ghana get the win when the game was tied at 2-2 but did nothing meaningful.
