BREAKING NEWS: Director-General Of The GES Test Positive For Coronavirus

The Director-General of The Ghana Education Service, Professor Kwasi Opoku Amankwa is the latest top government official to have been confirmed as COVID-19 positive, The BBC Ghana has gathered.

Professor Opoku Amankwa who is a member of an 11-member committee chaired by Senior Minister Yaw Osafo-Maafo to fashion out modalities aimed at reopening schools is one of five members to have tested positive for the virus.

The Educationist is said to be in isolation at a health facility receiving treatment.

The astute professor joins the likes of Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Dan Botwe, Carlos Ahenkorah, and Peter Mac Manu who have all been isolated in the past after being infected by the deadly disease.

Meanwhile, a business student at the Kwame Nkrumanh University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Senior High School (SHS) has met his untimely death after teachers of the school neglected him for the fear of coronavirus pandemic after an ill-health.
