The Mass Registration exercise which is set to begin following the 2020 General Election, the National Identification Authority (NIA) is to interject two packages for citizens who failed to register for the National ID cards.

The packages come in two folds, institutional at GH₵100 and premium at GH₵250.

On Tuesday, in a radio interview on Accra-based Joy FM, Mr Ken Attafuah, Chief Executive Officer of the NIA made this announcement.

He disclosed that the institutional package could be acquired at the office or home whereas the premium package could be done at a facility like a hotel of the candidate’s choice.

Adding that the premium has come with comforting facilities such as air-condition, some coffee, tea, or Milo in a conducive environment.

“Organizations can write to the NIA through the Executive Secretary for us to come and do institutional registration [for them]. That is at a fee of GH₵100 per person. You can also invite us to your home as long as the persons in your home are more than five. We can come and register at home also at a fee of GH₵100 per person. In terms of both, the logistics and distance we cover will also be picked up by the applicant.

There is also premium registration, which is available. We set up a center at Movenpick or Golden Tulip or wherever where we can go and register at a fee of GH₵250. There are options, but all that we do at the mass registration centres are all free”

Mr Attafuah concluded that these were the approved fees from Parliament.
