“It is difficult for Ghana football to succeed unless Kotoko succeeds. That’s how it has been in the past and that’s how it should be in the future”, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said.
The president of the land made the above pronouncement when Asante Kotoko’s incumbent CEO in the person of Nana Yaw Amponsah paid a courtesy call on Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo.
In the company of Akosuah Dentaa Amoateng, Emmanuel Dasobere and Moses Antwi Benefo.
The Asante Kotoko CEO suggested that should Asante Kotoko get 10% ($600,000) of the $6,000,000 spent at the 2019 AFCON, Kotoko will carry the flag of Ghana high.
“We cannot do it without financial support, it’s our plea that if your administration can help us with 10% of that, Asante Kotoko can and will be able to restore our lost glory in Africa and reclaim the slots lost,” Nana Yaw Amponsah told H.E Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo.
For the purpose of clarity, Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, also known as Asante Kotoko, is a professional football club from Kumasi, Ashanti Region in Ghana West Africa. Their home grounds is based at Baba Yara Stadium in Amakom, Kumasi. They compete in the Ghanaian Premier League.
