Not long ago, John Mahama truncated his scheduled tour of the Bono region and returned back to Accra over alleged abnormalities in the ongoing voters’ exhibition exercise.
According to Mahama in press-briefing, the ad hoc decision was to help him and the NDC mount up strategies to mitigate this challenge.
However, NPP’s Bono Regional Chairman, Abronye DC has said that Mahama halted his campaign in the Region, not because of these claimed anomalies in the electoral processes.
He made this disclosure in an interview with Philip Osei Bonsu, Show Host of Eko Sii Sen on Asempa FM, on Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
According to him, Mahama cut short his campaign because of intimidation from the ongoing developmental works in the region by the ruling NPP administration.
Abronye DC cited infrastructural projects such as roads, schools, factories among others as some of the completed and ongoing projects in the region.
Abronye DC noted that progress in the area was too much to handle for a former President who did nothing for eight years in office and with shame all over him, Mahama decided to prematurely end his tour of the region.
