PRESS CONFERENCE: Frank Lampard gives encouraging update on Pulisic, Ziyech, Tomori, Cheek,

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard spoke ahead of their game Premier League game against Crystal Palace.
On his press conference he gave updates on players who have not been playing as a result of injuries and players who are set to leave the club as he seeks to trim the squad size.

Lampard on selling Chelsea’s squad: “We have a big squad. I am not interested in getting involved with the speculation over the last few days of the window.”**

Frank Lampard says Billy Gilmour is progressing well and is hoping he will be fit within the next four weeks, barring any setbacks.

Lampard on Pulisic and Ziyech coming back to help Werner and Havertz: “I think they will all bring the best out of each other.”
“Hakim is going to bring something completely different for us.”
“I have clear ideas of where I want them to play.”

Lampard is saying changing the defense is normal and believes that it’s not normal to have a center back pairing that play all of a 50-60 matches throughout a season.

Lampard on loaning players like Hudson-Odoi, Tomori and Loftus-Cheek: “With every player in the squad, you consider what’s best for the players. With those three players, I haven’t got an answer.”

Lampard on Mount missing a pen: “Everybody rallied around Mason as they would do around anyone in the squad. I have been a penalty misser. With Mason, the biggest thing is that he might feel he let down me or his team-mates but it has been the opposite. He is fantastic”

Lampard has no information on possible loans for Tomori, Loftus-Cheek and Hudson-Odoi. He will take it on a player-by-player basis and see where we are on Monday. He adds there have been no developments regarding Rudiger’s future.

Lampard says it is an important game but adds there should be more perspective put into our first three league outings this season. The boss stresses the group is improving together, and we want to get on a winning run as soon as we can.
