Former Inter Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari says it was amazing working under Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho at the club.
Muntari joined Inter Milan in the summer of 2008, the same year that Mourinho was joining the Italian Serie A outfit.
The Ghanaian international went ahead to play four years for Inter Milan, capping 97 matches, scoring 8 and providing 10 assists and winning 8 titles with the club.
Muntari made history with Inter Milan by winning the treble with the team in the 2008-2009 season where they won the Serie A, Coppa Italia and the UEFA Champions League.
After almost eight years of leaving the Italian Serie A outfit, Sulley Muntari has revealed that he still keeps in touch with Jose Mourinho who now coach English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspurs.
“It was amazing. We still keep in touch. He is a very principled man and gives you all the attention to perform. He doesn’t accept if you are not in good shape for the whole year, everybody is loyal to him [Mourinho]”, Muntari told Metro TV in South Africa.
Sulley Muntari is now a free agent after leaving Spanish lower tier side Albecete in 2019. He has been heavily linked to a move to the South African Premier Soccer League with teams like Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns reportedly showing interest in the Ghanaian star.
