Popular Ghanaian gospel crooner, Uncle Ato has defended Pastors who asked their members to send their offerings and tithes through electronic means despite the global pandemic of Coronavirus.

Some Ghanaian Pastors introduced Mobile Money and other means to collect offerings and tithes after a ban was placed on public gatherings as a measure to avert the spread of the virus.

This move was heavily criticized by the majority of the Ghanaian society who felt the church members needed to be supported to survive these perilous times instead of asking for money from their members.

But speaking in an interview with Abeiku Santana on Okay FM as monitored by TheBBCghana.Com, Uncle Ato said there is nothing wrong with the actions of these Pastors.

He explained that Christians giving to God is an opportunity for Him to bless them.

The ‘Mensuro’ singer admitted we are in difficult times but that should not prevent Christians from supporting the work of God.
