Beasts of No Nation
The sad story of Striker who was featured in the “Beasts of No Nation” movie

The all-grown-up kid, STRIKER who featured in the popular movie Beasts of No Nation has revealed some sad stories about his young life that has made many weep already.

Striker was born Emmanuel Nii Adokwei to Ga parents but lived a tough life in Kokonba market in Accra. His father passed on while he was still a baby then at age ten, his mother died rendering him an orphan with no family to take care of.

The young lad decided to face the rough life head-on at age 10 and ended up learning to smoke weed due to the negative influence that greeted his presence in the community.

Several disturbing issues have ravaged his life and family members have not been helpful in providing him assistance when the mother passed. He hassled to sell yam at this tender age.

Life is full of unfriendly battles indeed, yet a determined young kid said, his mother was never buried, and no funeral was held.

Her body was picked up by the town and country planning and that ended it. It was after this and several sad events that brought him into the path of Madam Zoey an American lady who took him through audition for the beast of nation.

His earnings and the lack of openness about his earnings from movies he acted has been in the news recently.

The young actor has been featured in Jungle justices and Azali but he revealed that he had no manager after the Beasts of No Nation was completed.

Funds transferred to him sadly was not sent through his new manager by name Mr. Mawuli, this created some misunderstanding.

He revealed that he did not know how much he was paid for his first movie (upfront payment). He was unable to access the fund which Zoey later revealed to be $30,000 because he was underage.

Looking into the future, he was strategically admitted into a school in Cape Coast and had to start from primary one at age 15.

He stopped schooling because he felt he had no future with that and requested that they enrol him in an apprenticeship.

He added that he started school with Abraham Atta another young Ghanaian actor but dropped in class five (5) even though he was counselled.

In school, he was known as a smoker and joined librarian school mates to smoke. Zoey, Mr. Mawuko, and all the team embers of the Beasts of No Nation did not know about his drug life at that age.

He was very truant and skipped school to Accra to live with those he calls his people hence he was also going back to Konkoba yam market to sell yam.

His earnings kept in the bank were sometimes withdrawn with the help of one Mr. Kofi Robert for his education and upkeep.

According to him, he earned $30,000 from the Beasts of No Nation uploaded onto Netflix. A sad revelation is that he had less information about his earnings from the two other movies he acted.

He only knows of GHS1000 and GHS500 being paid for the Jungle justices and Azali movies respectively.

Striker has also revealed that Mr. Kwabena Sam, who played the role of Abraham Atta in the movie Beasts of No Nation has possession of his car, money for rent, and other personal items.

The said car according to him is spoilt per the information he received from Mr. Kwabena Sam.

His total earnings added up to GHS102,000 but the current earnings in his account is a little over 40,000. He is an apprentice learning how to spray cars but would love to enrol is an art school or a movie acting school.
