Kofi Kinaata has declared himself the true ‘Artiste Of The Year’ following the crowning of Kuami Eugene as the deserving recipient of the much-coveted plaque at the just ended VGMAs.

According to the ‘Things Fall Apart’ hitmaker, Kuami Eugene knows very well that he is the ‘Artiste Of The Year’ irrespective of the fact that his name is not on the plaque as many had wished for.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Kumasi-based Luv FM, the Takoradi-based songwriter stressed that he had wanted to win every category he was nominated for hence he feels very disappointed.

“I am the true Artiste Of The Year and I believe he [Kuami Eugene] knows it. I know everybody knew I was going to win it and I was confident too. I actually wanted to win everything and I am so disappointed for not having this one.
“Majority of Ghanaians will say is Kofi Kinaata but aside the judges, anything can happen,” Kinaata told Kumasi-based Luv Fm’s Dj Reuben in an interview.

Kofi Kinaata won three awards at the VGMAs, the most by any artiste while Kumai Eugene took the Highlife Artiste of The Year award and of course the 2020 VGMA Artiste Of The Year award as well.
