Comfort Konadu, mother of 6, a UK based Ghanaian who works as a cleaner has had to refund a total of £90,000 which she received wrongly as a refund by a Manchester Charity Shop.

News reported by BBC on their ‘North West Tonight’ news bulletin has it that the said UK based Ghanaian was mistakenly paid an amount of £90,000 instead of £9 as a refund for something she bought from the shop.

According to the report, Comfort Konadu admitted the theft after she took advantage of the wrongful payment and went ahead to spend up to £31,000 of the money in a single day.

She has since been sentenced to a 15 months suspension from work sentence with some form of punishments.

Konadu has sent £57,000 of the said money to some family members in Ghana some friends as well.

Though the funds were reversed as early as possible after the Charity shop filed a police report, the £31,000 she spent is yet to be recovered.
