Ghana’s former leader Jerry Rawlings, who seized power twice in military coups but went on to bring democratic rule to the West African country, died on Thursday at the age of 73, the country’s president said.
President Nana Akufo-Addo said Rawlings died on Thursday morning at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in the capital, Accra, where he had been receiving treatment after a short illness.
But in the rightful thinking of Stephen Atubiga who happens to be an astute member of NDC’s communication team has lashed out at the wife of the late Rawlings, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.
According to Atubiga in an interview with Kofi Tv, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings made the late Rawlings passed through hell which contributes immensely to his sudden demise.
He noted that as part of the inhumane treatment given to Rawlings by his wife when he was alive, he was forced to forsake his established NDC party and followed Konadu Agyemang Rawlings to set up her own party.
So, he feels strongly that Konadu Agyemang Rawlings didn’t give kind and heartwarming treatment every husband deserves in his weak and old days to the late Jerry John Rawlings.
