Gone are the days when most Ghanaian graduates complain of poverty after school and as a result gave birth to the infamous “Unemployed Graduate Association of Ghana” who used to give the government pressure to find them jobs.
But someway somehow, the above-mentioned association has been reduced to nothingness kind courtesy of the influx of sports betting in Ghana. This is because, with just GH¢1, a lucky punter can win hundreds or thousands of cedis which cometh with no or less stress.
Perhaps it’s at the back of this that Owusu Benjamin who works with Atinka Fm has posited that betting companies in Ghana have employed more Ghanaians than any government.
According to him, betting is the only industry that has been able to give a job to all sectors of the economy, not excluding politicians, Judges, Lawyers, Doctors, Nurses, Soldiers, Police, Fire Service, Prisons, Contractors, Bankers, Sports, Media, Teachers, Drivers, Mates, Plumbers, etc.
Taking to Facebook, he wrote, “Betting companies in Ghana have employed more Ghanaians than any government. And that’s the fact! The only industry that’s has been able to give job to all sectors of the economy.
“Politicians, Judges, Lawyers, Doctors, Nurses, Soldiers, Police, Fire Service, Prisons, Contractors, Bankers, Sports, Media, Teachers, Drivers, Mates, Plumbers etc.
