Perhaps the antidote to the misfiring Black Stars in the ongoing 2021 AFCON has been answered in the shape of Amerado.
The Ghanaian rapper has stated boldly that he’s patiently waiting for a call up to the national team shortly after he was spotted in a video he shared on his Instagram page scoring a beautiful Panenka goal during a training session recently.
Amerado sent the goalkeeper the wrong way as seen in the short video clip and by virtue of his achievement, he disclosed that he would love to be invited to the Black Stars to prove his mettle.
The Panenka penalty is named after the former Czech footballer, Antonin Panenka, who first attempted this cheeky kick in the Euro 1976 final against West Germany. After 120 minutes of play the score was 2-2.
The penalty shootout followed and the first seven shots were converted. Germany missed their fourth attempt by sending the ball over the net.
Panenka took the fifth penalty for Czechoslovakia, scored under enormous pressure, and won the game, as well as the prestigious trophy, for his nation. Antonin Panenka became an instant footballing legend (Sports King).
Sharing the video, the rapper wrote; “Patiently waiting for a call up to the Black Stars.”
