The government through the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, is set to engage the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Friday on the possible reasons that led to the shocking exit of the Black Stars from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana lost 2-3 to Comoros Islands on Tuesday to end the tournament bottom of Group C.

Rev Owusu Bempah fails to appear in court

The General Overseer of Glorious Word Power Ministry, Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, failed to show up at the Accra Circuit Court 2, where he is being trialed – with three others – for assaulting some police officers in November, 2021.

He is said to have apparently written to the court that he could not make it on Wednesday, January 19. The case has subsequently been adjourned to Wednesday, February 2.

2 out of 7 arrested in Nima clashes on admission under police guard

Two of the seven youth arrested over Tuesday’s violent clashes in Nima are on admission at the Police Hospital under security guard.

This was revealed by the Director-General of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, ACP Kwesi Ofori.

Nima fight will continue at Wembley Park in Kotobabi – Fear-gripped resident

One of the residents who witnessed the violent shoot-out of two youth groups in Nima on Tuesday, January 18 fears the feuding factions will continue at the Wembley Park in neighbouring Kotobabi.

Speaking to host Berla Mundi on TV3‘s New Day on anonymity on Wednesday, the shop attendant said the youth usually gather at a base near the Park to drink and that’s where the annual occurrence continues.
