Transparency International’s newest Corruption Perception Index gives Ghana a 43 out of 100. The West African nation thus ranked 73rd out of 180.

According to the current study, the country has made no progress against corruption.

“This CPI score suggests that Ghana failed to make progress in the fight against corruption in 2021,” said Ghana Integrity Initiative, a local chapter of Transparency International.

The GII report uses 13 data sources to examine the opinions of professionals and business leaders on various public sector corruption issues. The survey uses a 0 to 100 scale (very clean).

Niger (31), Nigeria (24) and South Sudan (11) are all at historic lows in the 2021 index. 43 countries in the area have either decreased or made no progress in the recent decade.
