Veteran Ghanaian actor Waakye is finally dead after years of illness

Waakye became famous during the popular TV Drama series “Obra” which was shown on the National Television GTV.

He starred in popular movies like Ogboo and Man Woman. He has also featured in most of Harry Laud’s productions and series like Jagger Pee series and the Living Arts Show.

But the sad story as we speak is that the actor has been stuck in bed with stroke and is unable to move for the past two years.

Most recently, the health status of Waakye born Prince Yawson got worse and he was rushed to the hospital. Sadly, he was detained at the hospital for days after treatment because of his inability to pay the medical bills.

In new development reaching The BBC Ghana, ailing actor Waakye has told his caretake (Aunty Ama) that he regrets campaigning for Akufo Addo in 2016 as his efforts have not been recognized now that he’s sick.

“I was part of the team that campaigned vigorously for Akufo Addo in 2016. Agya Koo and other actors were all part of the team and we toured the whole Ghana, but no NPP member including President Akufo Addo has visited me since I became sick “, Waakye sadly said.
