Former President John Dramani Mahama has asked the Akufo-Addo administration to be open to criticisms, especially from the opposition in relation to the nation’s fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the former leader, pragmatic suggestions offered by experts from the other side of the aisle are “critical ingredients that will engender trust and a collective will to support the battle we’re engaged in with this pandemic.”
The Flagbearer of the opposition NDC was condemning what he says is the posture of some overzealous appointees of the NPP government who blatantly insult persons who sought to question information put out by the government regarding the global plague.
“It’s not too late for us to truly unite and to be transparent and accountable to the people,” Mr. Mahama said in his maiden digital conversation Thursday night.

Meanwhile, Former President John Mahama has charged administrators of government’s COVID-19 Trust Fund to keep receipts of expenditure because a day of reckoning will come.
“I don’t think I need to become President before we demand accountability. All those spending the COVID-19 money should be keeping the receipts because the day of accountability is fast approaching,” he said.
