Ghana’s information minister, Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has stated emphatically that the sharing of free food to people who were affected by the partial lockdown by the president, has been seized as the ban on movements on Sunday, April 19, 2020, was lifted.
The information minister who also doubles as the Member of Parliament Ofoase Ayiribi made this known during an interview with an Accra-based radio station, Peace FM.
According to the minister, since the partial lockdown has been lifted, there will no need to share free food for the people as he believes people are now allowed to carry on their normal routine to fend for themselves.

The president of the country last month placed a ban on movement in areas which included the capital, Accra, Kumasi and its environs. This directive by the president was to curb the rapid spread of the deadly coronavirus disease as these places recorded more cases.
Even though the lifting of the ban has sparked controversies between the citizens of the country as they strongly believe it’s premature for the president to lift the ban as the country is still recording more cases as the day goes by.
