Fuel prices to soon cross 8ghc – COPEC

Fuel prices to go up today

Petroleum users in Ghana, according to the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers of Ghana (COPEC), may soon see gasoline prices approach GH8 per liter.

The government must take strategic efforts to limit the impact on consumers.

Duncan Amoah, the Executive Secretary of COPEC, blasted the government’s efforts to keep fuel prices from skyrocketing out of control.

Increasing fuel costs are one of the causes that are endangering the economy, which is true. The year began with a GH6.6 gasoline blend.

OMCs are presently available for purchase at GH7.50. “We anticipate that by the end of March, assuming that current international price patterns continue, we would have exceeded the GH8.00 mark,” Amoah told Citi FM in Accra on Wednesday.

In response to the reintroduction of the Price Stabilisation and Energy Recovery Levy (PSRL) by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), small rises in gasoline prices have been seen across the country.

As a result, drivers and owners of private autos fear that the situation will compound their present challenges.
