A 31-year-old fuel station supervisor has been jailed by the Hohoe Circuit Court.
Yusif Abubakar was sentenced to 15 years in jail term for stealing ¢139,118 from the company.
According to him, he used the money to stake a bet but didn’t win any money.
It is said that the trial judge, Yaw Opoku Acheampong said during his sentencing that he would have handed Abubakar a 20-year jail term but for his show of remorse throughout the trial.
The convict’s lawyer was reportedly not in court when the sentencing was handed.
The court further ordered Abubakar to pay back the money.
