Renowned Nollywood actress Nse Ipke-Etim has indicated that she felt incomplete as a woman when she realized her inability to have children.
In a recent interview the actress stated that even though the fact she is not ashamed of her condition, she feels incomplete as a woman after she had undergone a hysterectomy.
Hysterectomy is a surgical process that involves the removal of the uterus which is after the patient has been diagnosed with Adenomyosis.
The actress mentioned that she and her partner are happy amidst societal ridicule due to her inability to have children.
“I didn’t feel shame but inadequacy. I felt inadequate as a woman because I would remember every time it was mentioned. The least would be, but I’m thankful for how I was brought up; we don’t tie shame to ourselves,” she stated.
She expressed that her husband has been her pillar noting that he has always been by her side throughout her predicament.
When asked whether she was going to consider adoption, the actress stated, “when it comes to adoption, you can never say never, but my partner and I are dog parents. People should be allowed to live; what else? We are okay, and nothing defines you.”
