Ghanaian musician and songwriter Martin King Arthur is popularly known as Kofi Kinaata has vowed never to compose and of his songs in English.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Okay Fm’s Abeiku Santana, Kofi Kinaata stated that he doesn’t see why he should sing his songs in English or compose an English song when African-American based musician Micheal Jackson never sang in his native language, Fanti.
However Kofi Kinaata debunked the perception that he will not sing in English because he couldn’t express himself in English.
“Why should I bother myself singing in a language that is mine? Did Micheal Jackson ever sing in Fanti? Over my dead body will I sing in English” Kofi told Abeiku Santana.
