‘Is it that Atta Mills wasn’t dead and was buried alive?’ – Asiedu Nketia quizzes NPP MPs

The NDC’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has questioned the motives of certain Majority MPs who want a bipartisan investigation into the murder of former President John Evans Fiifi Atta-Mills.

In an interview with JoyFM’s Midday News on Friday, he said he doesn’t see the hoopla about the late President’s death.

Because the reason of Mills’ death is already known, he believes the four Majority MPs’ action is superfluous.

“In my opinion, this is a sick person who was always surrounded by others. He was sent to a reputed hospital as his sickness worsened, and he died while still under competent medical care. Do the physicians imply anything suspicious that needs to be investigated?

Or are his medical records unavailable to anybody who seeks to learn more about his death? In reality, a committee cannot be formed to look into something that is already public. So I don’t know what to watch for. We want to know what Parliament is expected to watch out for.

I heard Presidents died. Samora Martels perished in a mystery aviation disaster. So the accident was investigated. Like Mandela’s death. He aged, became ill, and died. I heard no probe into Mandela’s death.

Is it true that people don’t grasp Professor Mills’ illness? Was he not murdered by the sickness, or were we not dead and he was buried alive? Asiedu Nketia probed.

An inquiry into the late President’s death was requested by four members of the Majority in Parliament who submitted a Private Member’s motion.
