The NDC’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, has responded to the birthday cake fashioned in the style of E-levy for Majority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu.
The E-levy cake to celebrate Osei Kyei Mensah-65th Bonsu’s birthday is “nauseating and demeaning to the sensitivities of suffering Ghanaians,” he says.
On February 3, 2022, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, MP for Suame Constituency, turned 65.
Obvious controversy arose from the design of the E-Levy birthday cake, which led to parliamentary brawls and chair-throwing.
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, senior NPP leaders, as well as family and friends, attended the birthday celebration.

The whole Management Team, who has remained silent on the irritating E-Levy policy, was invited. The Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government’s constant show of wealth and ostentation is disgusting and disrespectful to the sensitivities of poor Ghanaians.”
