A 45-year-old contractor has been hauled before the Accra Circuit Court for allegedly defrauding a security officer at the Jubilee House.
Kingsford Painstil, made away with GH₵340,000.00, with a promise of awarding the complainant with a road contract in 2019, even though that promise was never fulfilled.
The presiding judge, Emmanuel Essandoh, who could not understand why the complainant could part away with such an amount, shockingly asked the complainant what happened.
The duped security officer explained that she agreed to part with the huge amount because the defendant promised her that she will be given the contract in two weeks.
