Kelvin Joseph was born on November 11, 1999 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the United States of America. He is a former American football player.
Kelvin Josepyh Sr. and Latoria Stewart gave birth to him. Joseph and his three siblings Nakia, Keristyn, and Akeira have the same parents.
Joseph attended Scotlandville Magnet High School while growing up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He measures 1.80 meters tall and weighs 87 kg.
As a junior at Scotlandville Magnet High School, Joseph had 67 tackles, 3 interceptions (two of which were returned for touchdowns), and 12 pass breakups, all of which contributed to the team’s 5A state championship victory.
He was selected All-State, All-Metro, Co-Defensive Most Valuable Player of District 4-5A, and All-District for Class 5A. As a senior, he had 113 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and three interceptions. He competed in the All-American Bowl and was selected All-State in Class 5A.
He scored a total of 13 touchdowns on punts, kickoffs, and interception returns throughout his high school career. He was Javonte Smart’s teammate and also played basketball.
Joseph elected to participate in college football for LSU despite having offers from Alabama, Florida State, Auburn, and Florida. As a true freshman, he played in 11 games and had 12 tackles and one pass breakup. Four tackles were made against the University of Mississippi by him.
After being disqualified from the 2019 Fiesta Bowl for violating team rules, he registered via the transfer portal, but then withdrew his name and participated in LSU’s spring workouts.
When he returned to the transfer portal in July 2019, Joseph indicated his plan to transfer to the University of Kentucky the following month.
Joseph’s second year was lost due to NCAA transfer requirements. As a redshirt sophomore, he started nine games for a defense that had five players selected in the 2021 NFL Draft.
In his one season with the Wildcats, he made nine starts, had 25 tackles, one tackle for loss, one pass breakup, and tied for second in the SEC with four interceptions.
He opted not to participate in the last regular-season game in order to focus on his preparations for the 2021 NFL Draft. Joseph was taken by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft (44th overall).
Dallas signed him to a four-year rookie agreement on June 10, 2021. Beginning the season on September 2, 2021, he was placed on injured reserve. He began his employment on October 30.
