This week, Italy coach Roberto Mancini will have a training camp in Florence for his 35-man squad. Mario Balotelli is one of the players that has been called up.
The 31-year-old hasn’t played for the Azzurri since the end of last season.
In the wake of disappointing seasons with Brescia and Monza in Serie B, the talented and strong forward is trying to restart his career with Turkish club Adana Demirspor.
Besides Balotelli, Mancini has called up Lazio defender Luiz Felipe and Cagliari striker Joao Pedro, both of whom are naturalized Italians born in Brazil. Mancini previously coached Balotelli at Inter and Manchester City.
Italy will face North Macedonia in the playoffs, and if they advance, they will face the winner of the Portugal-Turkey match.
