President of the Creative Arts Council, Mark Okraku Mantey, has been appointed by President Akufo-Addo to the position of Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture.

Earlier this year, rumors circulated about Mark’s nomination as Deputy Minister, with celebrities such as Sadiq and Kuami Eugene supporting him. Shatta Wale, a Ghanaian dancehall act, was openly opposed to his nomination.

According to a press release issued by the President’s Communications Directorate, the list of names of people to be appointed as Deputy Ministers during Akufo-second Addo’s term was submitted to the Speaker of Parliament for approval on Wednesday, April 21, 2020.

Mark will be deputy to the CEO of Graphic Communications Group, Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, who was named as Minister Designate for Tourism, Creative Arts and Culture.

The music producer has been in the arts and entertainment business for close to three decades and has been behind practically all the big music hits from the long periods of the ’90s.
