The award-winning News Anchor Serwaa Amihere of GhOne TV on Twitter claimed her married childhood friend is of the opinion that marriage is a fraud and in 10 years’ time, more than 50% of such institutions may end.

One may be wondering why a married person would have such an opinion. Well, the experience they say is the best teacher but if the vow says you take your partner as your wife(or husband), to have and to hold from the day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish till death do you both part then it’s obvious marriage comes with its own ups and downs.

Do you think the same? Serwaa Amihere asked her ardent followers if they shared the same opinion as her childhood friend. Here are some of the interesting responses gathered from her followers.

Marriage doesn’t have one written down the formula. There are so many variations which change over time and per couple. How someone perceives what marriage should be isn’t how another would. What would work for one couple can’t work for any other.

It’s therefore important that you marry your own way so long as you meet the following requirements: trust, understanding, care and above all having effective communication. If your marriage works your own way, ignore what others say.

They should go and marry their way and leave yours. The same way you shouldn’t compare your marriage to another’s. Thanks

Attitudes, belief system, behaviour, personality, mindset… All these things change with time and one can’t be certain that a partner will definitely stick to the same path till the end. People change and it depends on how we handle these changes.
