In a statement, the event which precedes the annual BET Awards has been cancelled due to COVID-19. The event was scheduled to take place between June 25-27, 2020.
“At BET, we place the health and safety of attendees, artists, staff, vendors, and partners first. Due to the unprecedented global health crisis of Covid-19, BET’s three-day event that leads up to the BET Awards.
“The BET Experience, will not move forward as scheduled on June 25-27, 2020. With the developments of this crisis, we’ve determined this to be the best course of action”, the statement reads.
The 2020 BET Awards will, however, move forward in a virtual format on Sunday, June 28, 2020, at 8/7C.
All VIP packages sold to date according to organizers will be refunded to ticket purchasers. regardless, organisers of BET are yet to release nominees for the 2020 BET Awards.
