Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan is working as a football pundit for SuperSport TV in the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) hosted by Cameroon.
The 36-year-old player missed the tournament for the first time since he made his debut in 2008 after being left out of Ghana’s squad by coach Milovan Rajevac.
Ghana Black Stars were paired in Group C alongside Gabon, Comoros and Morocco, losing their first match to Morocco and drawing against Gabon which later resulted in a scuffle after the final whistle.
It was in the midst of the scuffle that Benjamin Tetteh who came on in the 86th minute threw a punch at a Gabonese player and ran into the dressing room.
That didn’t save him from not receiving the red card as VAR review pointed out that he was indeed the one who threw the punch that sent the Gabonese player to the ground.
Asamoah Gyan who was in the studios of SuperSports on the day of the match had much to say as he couldn’t watch the black Stars misbehave after the final match when they have a game to spare which might see them qualify from the group stages.
In the video below, an infuriated Asamoah Gyan could be seen scolding the boys from the studio as they square it off with the Gabon players.
