Burger Silvia, an actress, has spoken out about the several directors working in the Kumawood Films community.
The aforementioned actress, speaking at the Hello FM studios in Kumasi, said that Rev. Samuel Kwesi Nyamekye (of Miracle Films renown) and Jackson K. Bentum are the only two legitimate filmmakers working in Kumawood.
Burger Silvia in an interview with Hello FM’s Dave Hammer, Silvia said that she exclusively works with Miracle Films and Jackson K. Bentum because they bring out the best in her performance.
You are all aware that Fr. Samuel Kwesi Nyamekye, founder of the Kumawood Cinema Company and star of the acclaimed Miracle Films, is one of the world’s greatest living film directors and producers.
To a certain degree, Reverend Samuel Kwesi Nyamekye might be credited as the one who first introduced the art of Akan filmmaking to Kumasi.
In contrast, Jackson K. Bentum works in the film industry in Kumawood. He has done a lot for Kumawood, an African film industry that is now considered among the greatest in the world.
He has produced a number of films that have starred several notable actors. Not only is he a successful producer, but he has also helped launch the careers of other notable figures.
Thus it shouldn’t come as a surprise that actress Burger Silvia thinks only Rev. Samuel Kwesi Nyamekye of Miracle Films and Jackson K. Bentum are the legitimate filmmakers working in Kumawood.
