The Black Stars’ head coach, Otto Addo, has been called unqualified by Kumasi-based sports journalist Super Obondede of Light FM.
Borussia Dortmund’s assistant coach has gotten a lot of fire for Ghana’s poor showing in a September friendly against Nicaragua.
In a tune-up match for the 2022 World Cup, Ghana’s national football team was beaten by Brazil, 3-0. Despite the setback, supporters remained confidence in the team’s ability to compete with the 139th-ranked country.
On Tuesday, though, the Black Stars defeated their Central American rivals by a score of 1-0.
In the aftermath of the team’s terrible performance in their first two World Cup games, many have criticized Addo’s tactics and asked for him to resign.
Super Obondede of Light FM sports thinks Addo isn’t clever enough to lead the national squad.
“Otto Addo is a scout. He has no coaching thinking skills. He’s not capable of managing Black Stars.
Otto Addo should be replaced with Chris Hughton who is currently the technical advisor to the Black Stars team else danger will happen at Qatar,” he added.
To thank him for leading Ghana to the world cup, which will begin on November 20 and go through December 18, Otto Addo has signed a one-year contract with the Ghana Football Association [GFA].
