Local Black Stars call-up, Nuhu Seidu who plays for the Ghana Premier League‘s side, Accra Great Olympics before the top-flight was suspended on March 15, 2020, now drives a tricycle (Pragyia), thebbcghana.com reports.

According to the president’s directives, football activities all over the country were brought to a halt since the widespread of the novel coronavirus pandemic and it has affected clubs worldwide.

Football Clubs across Ghana, however, find it very difficult to meet the financial obligations that expect them to pay huge sums of money to pay the monthly salary of their players and staff.

The financial constraint has since forced many local clubs including the Great Olympics football club to slash salaries of players because no income was being received from their usual activities.

The said financial loss has hugely impacted local clubs in Ghana as most clubs have not paid players for more than three months.

Nuhu Seidu who is based in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region now drives ‘Pragyia’ which is also called ‘Okada’ to make a living; a gesture which has been commended by many.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Opemsuo Radio, Nuhu disclosed that “it has come to the point to drive in order to earn money to cater for myself”.

“I’m a professional Footballer and Okada driver for that matter, I can’t sit on my laurels when there’s no football I have to work for a living”. He stated.

“I don’t feel shy because I know what is good for me. I cannot beg for money and if I’m to do, how much would I get?
