The Christian Bible makes it clear without doubt that there’s so much blessing in giving than receiving. Riding on this assertion, the entire crew at The Prisons Officers Children Association (POCA) showed love and generosity to Ghana Prisons Service, Ankaful.

The president of the Association, Mr Dickson Iddi Diabor together with his Vice Ms. Betrine Doku and the entire Executives including their Patron Rtd. DSP Warden, Mr. Atsu Wemegah, Formal President through the benevolence of their members called on the Regional Commander of the Ghana Prisons Service for Central Region, Deputy Director of Prisons (DDP) D.N.Arthur to make the donation.

The group made this kind of gesture to support the Prisons complex to battle the Novel COVID-19. The Regional Commander in his speech showed great support to the Prison Officers Children Association and praised them for their good work done.

He further highlighted the need for government and other benevolent societies to support them with enough PPEs as they go about their normal chores and activities.

He further encouraged the Group to keep it up and not relent in their efforts to always support them. The president of the Association in his speech thanked the entire members of the Association and stated that their donation was greatly motivated by their senior members both in and out of the country.

They saw the need to contribute their might in preventing this virus from entering the barracks. He further encouraged other Associations within the Barracks to follow suit, like the Prison Officers Wife’s Association (PROWA). They made donations of Veronica buckets, Hand tissues, liquid soaps and hand sanitizers.

The Veronica buckets were placed at vantage points to help in handwashing whiles liquid soaps, hand tissues and hand sanitizers were given to the four Prisons, Maximum Security Prison, Ankaful Main camp, Annex and the Contagious Disease Prison (CDP).
