John Dramani Mahama of NDC fame has said debts owed by every Ghanaian have increased since Nana Akufo-Addo took the helms of affairs in this country.
While addressing an enthusiastic crowd during his THANK YOU TOUR of the Eastern region, the former president said the country’s economic fundamentals have fallen apart under the current dispensation, accounting for untold hardships on citizens.
He also said every solution to Ghana’s many problems can be found in the NDC 2020 manifesto.
“When I was the president, a relative of Akufo-Addo said if Ghana’s public debt was to be shared equally, every Ghanaian would have paid GHC 4,700; now under the governance of his own family member, every Ghanaian practically owes GHC 11,000 if our debts were to be shared per head,” he has indicated.
He further talked about the unemployment rate plaguing the youths. He said;
“The high unemployment rate, businesses are suffering, the economy is collapsing. All the answers to what Ghana is going through today are in NDC’s 2020 manifesto.
“The big push for infrastructure, 10 billion dollars into infrastructure to construct our roads, our hospitals, our schools, they are all in our 2020 manifesto,” Mr Mahama said.
Mr Mahama also added that the NDC manifesto which the party presented to Ghanaians before the 2020 elections were better than that of the NPP and had all that it took to change Ghana.
“After the launch of our manifesto no one discussed the NPP’s manifesto, they all focused their attention on ours, the plan to create one million jobs was also in there.”
