Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has suggested that Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu does not seem to have the balls to take on former president John Dramani Mahama over his role in the Airbus Scandal.
Martin Amidu had identified Mahama as Government Official 1 in the Airbus scandal, however, says he can’t interrogate him because of his position as a flagbearer of a major political party ahead of the 2020 polls.
In reaction, Lawyer Ampaw noted that no place in the law does it state that someone who is a flagbearer of a party cannot be prosecuted. To him, Amidu just lacks the balls to do that.
“He should tell the part of the act that says that if you are an opposition leader, you can’t be investigated or prosecuted. There is nothing in the constitution and the Special Prosecutors act to support what he is doing. Martin Amidu does not have the balls to take Mahama on,” he stated.
