Patrick Osei Agyemang, also known as Countryman Songo, a sports writer, criticized Thomas Partey’s performance in Ghana’s first World Cup match against Portugal as awful.
According to the host of the famous sports program Fire for Fire on Adom TV, the Deputy Captain and midfielder for Arsenal was glaringly absent from action and had no influence on the game.
During an interview with Paul Otchere Adom on Good Evening Ghana, Countryman Songo criticized Partey and even called him “useless” for not performing to his full capacity in Portugal’s exciting 3-2 victory against Ghana.
“Are you aware that Partey was a very ineffective player in the game?” he said. “If you want Partey to perform well in a game, you must pair him with a great tackler or a game-changing thrower.”

“In the midfield, Otto Addo needs a substitute who can assist Partey reach his full potential. “This is not an experienced coach, since he cannot read the game or his opponent to make a substitution,” he said.
Monday, Ghana will face South Korea for the second time at the Education City Stadium.
In their World Cup debut, Portugal defeated Ghana 3-2 in a dramatic Group H contest.
Cristiano Ronaldo gave Portugal the lead after he converted a penalty kick after Mohammed Salisu fouled him (65).
Andre Ayew, Ghana’s experienced scorer, scored from close range against the flow of play (73), but Portugal promptly rallied with goals from Joao Felix (78) and substitute Rafael Leao (80), both assisted by Bruno Fernandes.
