Kumawood actress Gloria Kani has opened up about struggles in life revealing that she gave birth to her first child as a very little girl.

In an interview with Zionfelix.com, she disclosed that she was not more than 13 years when she gave birth.

Narrating a very sad life story, Kani who hails partly from the Brong Ahafo Region and the Northern region stated that her father was a soldier and she was born at the Kamina Barracks in Tamale.

According to the actress, her parents separated when she was just about five months old making her mother move back to Kintampo where she hailed from.

Sometime after relocating to Kintampo, the mother left her and her siblings in the care of the grandmother who was finding it difficult to cater to them.

When she was about six years old, Kani continued, she realised whatever she dreamt about came to pass. Her family, however, mistook her special gift for witchcraft and started taking her to pastors to exorcise the spirit from her.

These pastors failed to exorcise her and after being tossed around for some time, she was handed over to her auntie (sister of her father she was yet to meet). Things were good at her auntie’s place and she even started school until her elder cousin forced himself on her one night.

Not knowing what to do and failing to tell her auntie for the fear of being called a witch, she ran away from the house and came to Kumasi where after struggling for some time, she met the owner of the current Ashanti Home Touch (then operating a ‘chop bar’) who took her as a daughter.

Though the newfound mother was treating her well, something happened and she had to leave Kumasi and go back to Kintampo where she later discovered that she was pregnant and gave birth before she turned 14 years.

A few weeks after giving birth, Kani added, her mother surfaced and after some time she took the baby away.
