Former President Jerry John Rawlings who remains the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has finally reacted to the appointment of Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as the running mate to John Dramani Mahama ahead of the forthcoming December 7 Presidential elections.
According to Former President Jerry John Rawlings, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang’ deems fit for the position as her integrity earned over the years makes her an enviable personality to be giving that spot in the heat of recapturing power from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Rawlings further added that Jane Naana’s appointments as the running mate for John Dramani Mahama for the forthcoming polls are a step in the right direction since a woman’s personality can also win the party more votes since women constitute a greater number in our country’s population.
In words, Jerry as affectionately called described Jane Naana as a woman of integrity and a great professor.
He added that Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang has not been appointed by John Dramani Mahama because she is a woman but it’s a clear indication of the achievements of the woman in the circle now as her hard work has earned her the enviable recognition and her appointment is not geared towards soliciting for votes from women any gender pity but she deserves it.
Rawlings made this known when John Dramani Mahama together with Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang visited his residence.
