A confirmed report gathered by the various educational circuits across the districts in Ghana indicates that the government has introduced a new allowance for teachers.

The circular that was received by theBBCghana.Com on the Kwabre East Education Office in the Ashanti Region as forwarded to teachers by their Circuit Supervisors read:

Greetings All,

Please be informed of the new development for ESPV validation next month.

Approval and clearance have been sought for the payment of Critical Support Allowance for all the Non- Teaching staff that were not entitled.

Owing to the above, all these classes have been paid a Critical Support allowance of 15% of their basic salary, effective January 01, 2020.

This has resulted in a general increase in the salaries of these Non-teaching classes between GHc1000 to GHc4000 depending on salary grade and grade step.

Please be informed and guided accordingly.

We are kindly entreated to inform all ESPV validators of this development.
