Claims that former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is on admission to a health facility in Accra have been refuted by the Office of the late President JJ Rawlings.
In the immediate aftermath of Mr Rawlings’ death, there were reports that Mrs Rawlings had also been admitted to a health facility in Accra.
The late President’s office said in a statement: “The public is advised that Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings is well and has not been admitted to any hospital.” When President Akufo-Addo and former President Mahama called the family on Friday, November 13, she was present.
In the meantime, the Office has also announced that there will be no one-week commemoration of the death of the late President.
The public is also told that a one-week ceremony will not take place. All flyers reporting such a ceremony and other correspondence are fraudulent and should be ignored.
In addition, the office states that individuals and institutions who visit the family would not be permitted to commiserate without a nose mask.
“Due to Covid-19 protocols, the office kindly informs all groups and institutions who obtain appointments that visitors with appointments who arrive at the former President’s office without nose masks will not be allowed in”.
