It would be recalled that before the Akufo-Addo led government took over from the erstwhile Mahama government, there was a massive issue of 200 missing cars from the Presidency alone.
Tried as the new government did, they were unable to track most of the cars and the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Kwame Baffoe has offered more insight into how the former President John Mahama’s officials managed to get away with most of the cars.
Speaking on Wontumi TV which was monitored by Wontumionline.com, the NPP Chairman popularly known as Abronye stated that his investigations have revealed that most of the government Toyota Land Cruisers which have been stolen by some executives of the NDC have sirens attached to them.
He explains that they (NDC) do this to confuse authorities and paint a picture they are still in power and entitled to do so.
Another strategy Abronye explains is that some NDC guys driving the stolen vehicles place NPP mufflers in the cars as a way of confusing authorities.
“NDC members use their Land Cruisers with siren to beat traffic. They put NPP mufflers in the cars to do that. The 900 cars that got missing, one strategy they used was to use NPP muffler to lie to the police. The other strategy they used to steal government cars was to place NPP flags in their cars and run with it”, he said.
