After parting ways with the label (Lynx Entertainment) that discovered her, MzVee grabbed her first award at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).
Thus, MzVee born Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, received three nominations; “Best Reggae Dancehall Song of the Year,” “Best Music Video of the Year,” and “Album of the Year.”
And on the industry night held on Friday, June 25, MzVee won in the category of “Best Music Video of the Year,” with her music video for “Baddest Boss” featuring Mugeez of R2Bees fame.
But when her name was mentioned at the Accra International Conference Centre to come for her plaque, the auditorium was silent as no one showed up to grab the award on MzVee’s behalf, however, her label mates were all present.
Reacting to this that Ruthy of Nhyira FM fame on Entertainment Power show has blasted KiDi, Kuami Eugene and Richie Mensah for their failure to show MzVee love when her name was mentioned as the winner of VGMAs Best Music Video of the Year.
According to Ruthy, KiDi and Kuami Eugene failure to take MzVee’s VGMAs plaque means they never liked her during her entire days at Lynx Entertainment which is unfortunate.
