Former Health Minister Alex Segbefia of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration called the present government dumb.
He stated the NPP government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo had run out of ideas.
In an interview with Accra-based TV3, Mr. Segbefia stated the government’s handling of the “Agenda 111” initiative demonstrates their ignorance.
“They’ve ran out of ideas,” Mr Sgbefia added.
According to him, the administration has already missed its timetable for completing the Agenda 111 hospital building project.
“It has already missed the deadline. 18 months, he says, “from the day it begins.”
“What does it mean when I begin? At least 20 or 30 hospitals now,” he stated.
“They failed,” he said.
But President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has promised to finish ‘Agenda 111′ before he leaves office.
In his 28th address to Ghanaians, President Mahama stated that lack of health facilities in certain areas of the nation is hampering the battle against the epidemic.
“There are 111 areas without district hospitals in the nation, and we must act. The formation of the new regions necessitates the building of 6 regional hospitals, one for each of the new areas, and the rehabilitation of the Effia Nkwanta Hospital in the Western Region.
“Agenda 111, the nation’s largest ever healthcare investment, was born out of this. “Work is started and will be completed before my term ends on 7 January 2025,” Akufo-Addo stated.
The Western Region, two specialty hospitals in the middle and northern belts, and a regional hospital in the Western Region.
