As usual, Ghanaians on social media are making a lot of jokes with the ‘Papa No’ term so we all thought it was for unserious purposes.

But to our surprise, the term has been used at one of the most serious institutions that steer the affairs of the nation, Ghana — the Parliament.

The Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in making his submission in parliament yesterday, August 14, 2020, used the term to mock NDC members.

The video after making it on social media is going viral. The NPP members are laughing over it whiles NDC party members also think it’s very disrespectful and derogatory for the Minister to use such word in parliament.

For the purpose of clarity, “Papa No” terms is now used to refer to John Mahama. It all started when Tracey Boakye, Gloria Kani and Mzbel made use of it during their live videos when they were fighting recently on social media.

Apparently, they all make reference to one “Papa No” who has either bought a house for them or bought a car for them. And since all these 3 ladies have a history with the NDC party for that matter former President John Mahama, critics are connecting the dots — saying it was Mahama they referred to as “Papa No”.
