Another sad event as a final student of the Methodist Girls Senior High School at Mamfe has passed away.

The deceased identified as Ms Cindy Aku Sika Addo was initially taken to the Tetteh Quarshie Hospital situated at Mampong but was subsequently transferred to the Koforidua Regional Hospital when her situation gone from bad to worse.

She died at the Koforidua Regional Hospital on Friday 17th July 2020.

“The unfortunate incident happened on Friday 17th July 2020. Management of the school quickly took the said student to the Tetteh Quarshie Hospital at Mampong around 11 pm on Thursday 16th July 2020 when her friends found out that she was not well. The parents of the deceased were instantly informed and they went to the hospital to see her.”

“She was later referred to the Koforidua Regional Hospital where she, unfortunately, passed on the next day on Friday 17th July 2020,” the Ghana Education Service said in a statement.

She was rushed to the hospital “after her friends detected that she was not well,” noted in the statement.

The statement also revealed the student died of Acute Malaria. Meanwhile, Management of the Ghana Education Service has pledged to give the deceased a befitting burial.
