Government workers who receive their salaries through the Controller and Accountant Generals Department (CAGD) have been warned over a new fraud that has been reported to them on several occasions.

The circular from the Controller and Accountant Generals Department (CAGD) reads:

Hi, colleagues, there is a scam going on where someone will call that he is from CAGD office. He then mentions your name direct, your rank, and any relevant info about you to convince you that he is a staff at the department.

They will tell you that there is some money (GH 15000) that they will pay you which you will share with them (50-50).

Now they will tell you that it is secret, and they do not want any auditor to know, so they will not pay through your mother bank but only through DALEX, BAYPORT, IZWE.

Please don’t fall for it because they will use your details to take a loan from any of them that you will select yourself share the money with you 50-50 and they will give you a three months grace period before deductions.

By then it will be too late so please be alert. You would have been defrauded of millions of credit and this can affect your salary.
