Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a firm warning to JHS 3 teachers instructing them not to serve as Electoral Commission (EC) officials in the upcoming Voter Registration exercise across the country.
As you are aware, BECE candidates are expected to report to school on today, Monday 29th June, 2020 to prepare for their exit exams.
The presence of their teachers has become more important during this time because of the long break and the limited period of time the candidates will spend in school to prepare for the exams.
All JHS Head Teachers and teachers who teach JHS 3 classes are therefore advised to avoid taking part in the upcoming voter registration exercise as registration officials.
Please note that serious penalties will apply if anyone flouts this directive.
Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission (EC) has issued that they will not accept old voters register as a mean of registering for the new voters registration exercise.
The EC had further added that the use of Nation Health Identication Cards wouldn’t also be accepted by the commission ahead of the forthcoming exercise.
